St. Rose Youth Scholarship (SCRIP)

TO ALL PARENTS of children enrolled at SROL Elementary or York Catholic High Schools:

 If you have a child attending St. Rose of Lima School or Y.C.H.S. we have some good news!

St. Rose of Lima is now offering “non-financial” based scholarships funded by a portion of the proceeds from the sale of scrip purchased by participating members.  This program provides financial     assistance to families who have students enrolled at St. Rose of Lima School and York Catholic High School and has been approved by the diocese.

The Youth Scholarship Fund is a program staffed by volunteers at St. Rose of Lima Church to support Catholic Education in our Parish.  This program provides financial assistance to families who have students enrolled at St. Rose of Lima School and York Catholic High School.

Common Questions:

  •  How do I sign up for this program?    Complete an application.  It will be available at the SROL      Elementary School, Parish Office, and on our website.
  •  What is the tuition reimbursement amount I may receive?   Up to two months of tuition.
  •   What must I do to be eligible for this program?   (a) Have a child enrolled in either St. Rose of Lima School or York Catholic, (b) Purchase scrip at least ten (10) times from October 2014 through March 1, 2015, (c) Purchase a minimum of $750 in scrip during this same time period, (d) document scrip purchase by correctly completing the scrip purchase form. 
  • Can other people buy scrip in my child’s name? Yes, as long as they complete the scrip purchase form and have your child’s name recorded on it.  These purchases would count towards your agreement obligation.
  •   How are my scrip purchases tracked?   Scrip purchase forms will reviewed each week and your purchases will be recorded.
  • How is the tuition reimbursement determined?   A committee selected by Father Mitzel will meet in March to review the activity of each participant in the program.  Awards will then be determined based on the amount of the funding the program received.
  •   When will the scholarship awards be made?   Awards will be made in March 2015.  Tuition reimbursement will be credited to the April and May tuition.  You will be notified of the amount of any award.
  •   How will the reimbursement be handled?   Tuition reimbursement checks will be sent directly to the prospective schools and be credited to the child’s tuition account.

 Applications may be picked up at the Parish office and St. Rose of Lima School.
