Survey will go LIVE on Tuesday, October 15th

September 25, 2024

St. Rose of Lima Church is on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ in our parish community.  Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.

The very first step in this process involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) comes in!  The DMI is an important survey tool that invites you to reflect on your discipleship journey here at St. Rose.  The Disciple Maker Index is designed to:

  • Invite parishioners to reflect on their journey of discipleship.
  • Enable parish leadership to make data-driven decisions.
  • Help parishioners grow in their faith.

The 10–15-minute survey can be accessed through an online link from October 15th - November 24th and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide your perspective on our parish’s efforts to help you grow in relationship with Christ.  All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole.  We will share the link with you a bit closer to the launch of the survey. Paper surveys will also be available for those who do not have the ability to complete the survey online.  We are also considering setting-up groups after Masses for those who would like to complete the survey on-line using our chromebooks and having tech volunteers available.

Parishioners across the diocese are being given the opportunity to complete a survey about their parish. Every single parish will have completed this by Thanksgiving. The bishop made a video about it: Called for More - see below.

Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parish can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.

Please continue to pray for this intention and for the growth and protection of our parish.

Under the guidance of Bishop Senior, the entire Diocese will engage in a transformative journey to develop a vision for its future. To aid him in this process, Bishop Senior is partnering with Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) to facilitate meaningful engagement with the clergy, Diocesan staff, and faithful throughout the Diocese, so that every voice is heard, and all are equipped to shape a mutually shared vision for the future.

“Called for More” is not a program, but a set of tools that will be made available to the entire Diocese – our pastors, parishes, ministries, Catholic schools, and the faithful – at no cost. We hope that one year from now when the process concludes, we will have a thoughtful, prayerful vision for the future of our Diocese.

The process is expected to occur over several phases, which began in August. The first phase will focus on the Diocesan offices and ministry operations. Surveys will gather information on the strengths and potential gaps regarding structure, process, and resources.

The second phase, which begins in October, involves collecting information from all parishes in the Diocese through the Disciple Maker Index. The Disciple Maker Index (DMI) is a survey tool that supports Church ministry with objective data, helping Church leaders recognize their potential and envision future possibilities through a deep analysis of attitudes and beliefs, participation, relationships/satisfaction, and demographics.  The DMI was launched in 2014 and has since received over 685,000 responses.

In January 2025, the third phase of the process begins with the development of the strategic plan. It is anticipated the entire process will conclude in August of 2025.

More details will be shared as we progress through this process. Please keep our Diocese and our leadership in your prayers as we discover how we are “Called for More.”

  5. This Tuesday our parish will begin to participate in a diocesan-wide survey about discipleship. This extraordinary opportunity is called the Disciple Maker Index. It is part of the Diocesan’s “Called for More” initiative and will be conducted by the Catholic Leadership Institute, a non-profit Catholic apostolate specializing in leadership training and development.

We need as many parishioners as possible to participate, and will need the help of each one of you to make this effort a success.  All Parishioners aged 14 years old and up are encouraged to participate.

The survey will go LIVE on Tuesday, October 15th and run through November 24th. It will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth. It will also enable you to provide feedback on what our parish is doing to help you grow.

The survey will be available online and in paper format, and all responses will be confidential even from the office staff and the pastor. Please only take the paper survey if you do not have access to the internet.

On Sunday, October 27th after the 9:30 Mass, we will have computers and assistants available in the Convent Dining Room for those who would like to complete the survey online.  At the entrances today, the paper surveys and log-in information are available.

Thank you for your help with this important project!
